February 2, 2016 (Tallahassee, Fla.) - North Highland, an employee-owned management consulting firm, recently announced that it is merging and expanding its operations in Florida in order to better serve its growing client base in the state. The Florida office, which includes locations in Jacksonville, Orlando, Tallahassee and Tampa, will combine resources from throughout the state, and will be led by Vice President Barbara Ray, who is based in Tallahassee.
“The new organization of Florida will help our teams strengthen and leverage our trusted relationships throughout the state, allowing us to deliver higher value to our clients,” Ray said. “As we expand and operationalize our capabilities throughout Florida, our team will be able to focus on delivering smart solutions to challenges with statewide impact.”
Ray has more than 20 years of consulting experience, with both private and public organizations, including top leadership positions with two Florida state agencies. Specific areas of expertise include consulting to state government executives and Fortune 500 business executives on the business of good, cost-effective, delivery-effective government.
North Highland entered the Florida market in the late 90s, and more than 100 Florida businesses and organizations, including Fortune 500 companies, state government and leading nonprofits, depend on North Highland to help them solve complex challenges, from organizational strategy to data analytics and everything in between. North Highland’s first Florida office was established in Orlando, and it has since added Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Tampa and South Florida clients to its portfolio. North Highland’s Florida office currently serves a portfolio of clients that are among the state’s largest employers, in industries including:
- Health care
- Hospitality and Vacation Ownership
North Highland is known as a locally-based growth firm that serves its clients primarily with expertise and knowledge in the cities where they reside - a factor that has helped the company grow at a rate faster than that of the consulting industry as a whole. Ray said the new “Florida Focus” strategy is a reflection of North Highland’s culture and values.
“Our consultants live and work where our clients live and work, and we care about the communities we serve. That’s a core part of our culture,” Ray said.
North Highland has been honored several times as one of Florida Trend Magazine’s Best Companies to Work For in Florida in the Large Companies category, earning the No.10 spot in 2015, the No. 3 spot in 2013, and the No. 1 spot in both in 2012 and 2011.
