State of Florida, Department of Children and Families recognized for Medicaid Eligibility System Project
North Highland’s Florida Medicaid Eligibility project with the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families was recently awarded the 2014 Government Computer News Honorable Mention award for IT achievement. The award recognizes group performances in outstanding IT achievement in the government technology community.
The project sought to make significant enhancements to the Medicaid eligibility system, and to align with the new eligibility mandates for the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families.
“North Highland is excited to be part of the team that is being recognized for this award. Through our work, we identified and addressed potential problems through a strong risk management approach and helped to minimize the impact on Department staff and clients as this critical system went live,” said Barbara Ray, North Highland vice President and global public sector lead.
Since April 2013, North Highland led the management of the project, while collaborating with the Florida Department of Children and Families to implement the system efficiently, on schedule and communicating the changes to over 4,000 staff using the system. Through this collaboration, Florida’s Medicaid eligibility system changes were successfully implemented on-time and under budget.
“DCF’s Medicaid eligibility team and its contractors worked diligently and collaboratively to see that the department was complying with the new eligibility laws and ensuring the new system was implemented as timely as possible with the least impact to the clients we serve,” Florida Department of Children and Families Interim Secretary Mike Carroll said. “I am proud of their continued commitment to providing the highest level of service to Florida families.”
