Former U.S. Representative Christopher Shays Joins North Highland Board of Directors
ATLANTA, June 4, 2009 – North Highland, a global management and technology consulting firm, today announced a high profile addition to its board of directors with the appointment of Christopher Shays, widely respected former member of the U.S. House of Representatives. Shays, a Connecticut representative from 1987 to 2008, gained recognition for his bipartisan work and leadership positions on issues ranging from finance and health care to energy and national security.
"Chris will provide an invaluable perspective not just on the governance of our firm but on challenges and opportunities for all of our clients – business, government and non-profit," says North Highland CEO Dan Reardon. "He will help us even more effectively position our firm to serve clients as we expand in the U.S. and internationally."
Shays stated, "I am grateful to be part of North Highland. It has a great business philosophy – focusing on its clients' successes, while enabling its employees to maintain real work-life balance even as the company experiences tremendous growth. This impressive growth is due in large measure to a strong management team and to dedicated employees proud to be owners of such a dynamic organization."
Most recently, Shays has been appointed co-chair of the Commission on Wartime Contracting charged with examining contract failures in Iraq and Afghanistan. He serves on the board of directors of CIT, is a commissioner for UNESCO, serves on the board of trustees of The Campaign Legal Center and is active on the Committee for Economic Development, a nonpartisan, business-led, public policy organization.
Prior to his service in Congress, Shays served in the Connecticut House of Representatives and was a volunteer with the Peace Corps. He holds a master's degree in business administration and a master's degree in public administration from New York University.
