Similar to the tech industry, the auto industry is experiencing mass layoffs. This is due to the decades-long shift to electric vehicles, causing traditional automotive jobs to go extinct while heightening the demand for software programming and engineering roles. Chris McCarthy, North Highland's Global Transportation Lead, shares his take in an interview with Business Insider.
"We're seeing layoffs in one area and growth in another," McCarthy says.
